Overview

In an era dominated by online shopping, our perception of goods is often limited to images and text. The traditional grocery store 'Chu Wing Kee,' however, acts as a multi-sensory museum where the owner curates an eclectic, 'organized chaos' of items, each hiding a story. Part of the 'SATA Extra: Exhibition + Art Workshop' series, this session invites participants to visit the store, learn from the owner's curation philosophy, and reconnect with the sensory richness of daily life.

Highlights

  • Into the Maze of Goods: Visit 'Chu Wing Kee' to understand the owner's unique approach to store curation and display.
  • Sensory Collection: Train your observation skills within the store's fascinating layout, finding narrative potential in everyday objects.
  • Miniature Grocery Creation: Use the 'urban sensory fragments' you collect during the visit to curate your own miniature grocery store, turning experiences into art.
