Highlights
The Musicus Fest 2026 concludes with a grand finale, 'Musical Rendezvous', featuring the prestigious Mantua Chamber Orchestra from Italy, winners of the Abbiati Prize. This concert highlights a unique collaboration between international classical masters and local talent, showcasing the virtuosity of 'Young Artist Audition' winners Luo Haoqiang and Li Xixi on double bass, joined by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra Pipa Principal Zhang Ying. This cross-cultural dialogue of instruments promises a night of technical brilliance and artistic fusion.
Program
The concert program is meticulously curated to traverse eras and styles. It opens with Haydn’s Symphony No. 48 in C major, 'Maria Theresa', known for its stately grandeur. A rare highlight is Bottesini’s Double Bass Concerto, a technically demanding and dazzling work for two double basses. The repertoire also features the cross-cultural composition 'Xia Xin Fei Bai' by composer Old-German (Gottfried Dünwald), arranged for Pipa and string orchestra. The evening continues with the dramatic 'La Casa del Diavolo' (The House of the Devil) by Boccherini and concludes with the nimble Vivaldi Concerto in A major, RV 158, offering a layered and immersive listening experience.
